A nationally recognized authority on physical therapy and exercise for persons living with chronic disease, Shawn has always envisioned creating a health center with a multi-specialty approach to rehabilitation for this population. Now co-owner of Brentwood Center of Health with his wife, Suzanne, his vision is a reality. Shawn applies his expert clinical skills in the treatment of a wide range of diseases and dysfunctions.

Shawn's 22 plus years of experience are extensive and include being a senior staff member with the University of Chicago Hospitals and Barnes Jewish Christian Healthcare Systems, as well as serving as physical therapist to the U.S. Olympic Sailing Team from 1994-96.

He traveled to China to attend the 3rd International HunYuan Taijiquan Conference and Competition held in Beijing, China, Nov. 1, 2011 and received a medal for his successful HunYuan 24 Form Competition performance and had the opportunity to study QiGong and Chan Szu Chin exercises personally with GrandMaster Feng's daughter, Feng Xiufang, who encouraged his efforts to combine the heath benefits of HunYuan with western physical therapy methods.

He is an authorized Level I Instructor of Hun Yuan Taiji/Qigong for Health which permits him to teach Introductory Taiji Simplified Form (1st section) and Qigong for Health to his many patients, PT students and members of BCOH, under the direction of Sifu Justin, which allows him to adapt the movements and principles of HunYuan Taiji/Qigong with his own extensive PT expertise for the health benefits of his patients and beginning practitioners.
